Here are the trailers for the movies to be voted on for the next showing. The poll closes at 10:00 PM May 7 so please vote by then. You can see the voting box to the right of these posts, below the welcome message.
The next showing will be Saturday May 9, unless enough people want to see the movie this Saturday, May 2. It will probably be pretty chilly that day, though, as the high is only supposed to reach 60.
The first movie in the poll is Star Wars Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980). This movie runs for approximately 124 minutes and is rated PG for sci-fi violence.
The story of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and the others didn't end with the destruction of the Death Star - it continues in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Imperial forces have since driven the Rebels to hide on the ice world Hoth. But even on such an icy, backwater world, they cannot escape the wicked Darth Vader's eye for long, and he devastates the Rebel base in an assault with the horrible AT-AT walkers. Luke flees to Dagobah to begin Jedi Knight training with Yoda, while Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO run the blockade of Imperial Star Destroyers in the Millenium Falcon. The Imperials pursue them across the galaxy and eventually catch up with them at Bespin. Now Darth Vader plans to use them as bait to lure Luke Skywalker to him, and turns Han Solo over to Boba Fett as a prize to be delivered to crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Luke learns a terrible family secret after losing a swordfight with Vader. Will he - and the others - escape the Empire's clutches?

The second movie in the poll is Shrek (2001). This movie runs for 90 minutes and is rated PG for mild language and some crude humor.
An ogre, in order to regain his swamp, travels along with an annoying donkey in order to bring a princess to a scheming lord, wishing himself King.

The third movie in the poll is the recent release Bedtime Stories (2008), starring Adam Sandler. This movie runs for 99 minutes and is rated PG for some mild rude humor and mild language.
A family comedy about a hotel handyman whose life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true. What they dream up... he has to survive!

The fourth and final movie in the poll is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), a Walt Disney classic starring Kirk Douglas, James Mason, Paul Lukas, and Peter Lorre. This movie runs for 127 minutes and is rated G.
Walt Disney's fun, live-action adaptation of Jules Verne's classic science-fiction story features some of the best special effects produced in the 1950s. Captain Nemo, the commander of a futuristic submarine called the Nautilus, rescues the survivors of a shipwreck and takes them on an incredible journey far below the ocean's surface. They encounter numerous wonders of the sea, including an enormous squid which attacks the ship in the film's most unforgettable sequence.
Please remember to vote for the movie you'd like to see on the side of the house by May 7. We'll post the winning movie here the next day.
Showtime will be Saturday May 9 at 8:45 PM. It should be warmer by then! Hope to see you there!

It Was Chilly Last Night!
Thanks to everyone who joined us last night for Star Wars Episode IV - A New Hope. It got quite chilly once the wind picked up, didn't it? Hard to believe it was in the 80's just two days earlier.
The next showing will probably be Saturday May 9. We could do one this Saturday if enough people would like, but as of now the high that day is only supposed to reach 60, so it might be too cold again. Just email me and let me know if you'd like to go ahead this Saturday anyway. Unless you hear different here, however, the next movie will probably be in 2 weeks on the 9th.
There will be another poll here later this afternoon for voting on the next movie, regardless when we show it. And if you have any movie suggestions, please let us know. Thanks!

The Weather's Getting Warmer
Soon we can show movies on the side of the house.
Here's a picture from last Halloween.
The movie was Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein.
We'll use this blog for announcements of upcoming movies, with dates and times.
All the movies will of course be suitable for everyone in the family - most will be rated G, with maybe a couple rated PG (like Star Wars).
Just bring a lawn chair and whatever you'd like to munch on and drink, and join us for a fun night at the movies!
Please feel free to comment and suggest any movies you'd like to see on the side of the house, as well!
