Thanks to everyone...

... who joined us last night for Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I hope everyone had a good time. The kids seemed to like it, judging by all the giggles.

The next movie will be in October. We'll post it here in advance. Feel free to email any suggestions for movies you'd like to see.

Don't Be a Wimp!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Join us this Saturday and watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid on the side of the house. Everyone's welcome! Just bring a lawn chair or blanket and whatever you want to munch on or drink.

To Greg Heffley, middle school is the dumbest idea ever invented. It's a place rigged with hundreds of social landmines, not the least of which are morons, wedgies, swirlies, bullies, lunchtime banishment to the cafeteria floor - and a festering piece of cheese with nuclear cooties. To survive the never-ending ordeal and attain the recognition and status he feels he so richly deserves, Greg devises an endless series of can't-miss schemes, all of which, of course, go awry. And he's getting it all down on paper, via a diary - "it's NOT a diary, it's a journal!" Greg insists, preferring the less-sissyfied designation - filled with his opinions, thoughts, tales of family trials and tribulations, and (would-be) schoolyard triumphs. "One day when I'm famous," writes Greg, "I'll have better things to do than answer peoples' stupid questions all day." So was born the Wimpy Kid's diary.

This movie is rated PG for some rude humor and language.

Here's the preview:

Date: Saturday September 4
Time: 8:30 PM
Show: Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Runs: 94 mins.

There Will Be Lightning...

... but only on the side of the house. The weather forecast looks good, it's getting darker earlier now, and the sprinkler issue is (hopefully) resolved, so this Saturday we'll show Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief on the side of the house. Everyone's welcome! Just bring a lawn chair or blankets and whatever you want to munch on or drink.

A teenager discovers he's the descendant of a Greek god and sets out on an adventure to settle an on-going battle between the gods.

This movie is rated PG for action violence and peril, some scary images and suggestive material, and mild language.

Here's the preview:

Date: Saturday August 21
Time: 8:30 PM
Show: Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief
Runs: 118 mins.

A Sprinkling of Unfortunate News

We had hoped to show Astro Boy, as chosen by voters in the poll, on the side of the house tonight.

Unfortuneatly, there's a great possibility that the lawn sprinklers will come on during the middle of the movie. This would not only drench you, the viewers, but also a bunch of electrical equipment as well.

Until we know for sure when the automatic sprinklers will kick on, and can get the schedule changed if it's during the showtimes, we'll have to postpone showing a movie.

We're sorry about the cancellation, and hope you understand. We'll post here as soon as we find out something about the sprinkler situation.

And so it begins again...

Saint Paul Winter Carnival
It's snowing as I type this, and the Holiday season will soon be here. In fact, the Holiday displays are already going up in Target. With the possible exception of Halloween and the Super Bowl, it will be too cold to show anything on the side of the house until next year.

Thanks to everyone who came out and watched some movies with us. I hope you had a good time. As always, feel free to email me with future movie ideas.

Tonight's Movie Cancelled Due to Nasty Weather

As I'm sure everybody's noticed, the weather this week has turned cold and wet, especially so today, so I'm afraid we're not going to be able to show the movie tonight.

Hopefully (if it doesn't turn too cold) we'll be able to show it in the near future. If so, we'll post something here.

Have a great weekend!
